KVDA is a non-profit and non-Governmental association that provides voluntary services to marginalized communities in rural areas of Kenya. Its main purpose is to promote peace, understanding, justice, development and information exchange among Kenyans and within the international community.

Our objectives 

• Afford voluntary service opportunities to young people
• Mobilize communities to action
• Supplement formal education with experiential learning
• Create awareness amongst Kenyan communities about development issues
• Foster global peace, friendship and understanding
• Mobilize all-purpose resources to promote grassroots development

What we do

• Local and international voluntary service projects organized in remote and needy parts of Kenya through work camps on monthly basis
• Medium and Long-term voluntary service projects
• Educational tours
• Kiswahili Training Program
• Theatre
• Work for food security
• Capacity building and empowerment of communities via lobbying and advocacy
• Membership recruitment
• Awareness campaigns on thematic issues like HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Tuberculosis, Civic education,
• Girl Child Education, Peace building and Conflict transformation
• North-South, South-North and South-South volunteer exchange program
• Public lectures at learning institutions and public forums
• Sporting events and recreational activities for the youth
• Conduct leadership training for focus groups; women, Youth and Community based organizations
• Networking and linkages for community organizations to other service providers
